How much does a plumber charge to call out in Limerick?
€70–€150 on a weekday, and €100–€350 in the evening, at night or at the weekend. Labour after that is €60–€150 in normal hours and €90–€225 out of hours, with parts on top.
Free, no obligation. One local plumber prices it, not five.
What a call-out covers
- Getting to you, and usually the first half hour to an hour on site. Ask which, because it decides how much the first visit costs.
- Some plumbers charge no call-out and bill from the first hour instead. On a short job that can work out the same.
How to keep the bill down
- Ring in working hours if it can wait. Turn the water off and it usually can.
- Have the make and model of the boiler, shower or pump ready, so the right part comes in the van.
- Group small jobs into one visit: a dripping tap, a running toilet and a stiff valve are one call-out, not three.
Ask before anyone drives out
- Is it a call-out plus an hourly rate, or a fixed price for the job?
- Is VAT included? Most plumbers include it. Some add 13.5% on top.
- What happens if it takes longer, or needs a part they don't carry?
Prices that go with it
Typical prices in Limerick.
| Job | Typical price | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Call-out, weekday daytime | €70–€150 | Some plumbers charge nothing to come out and bill from the first hour. Others charge a call-out that covers the first half hour or so. |
| Hourly rate, weekday daytime | €60–€150 an hour | Most bill the first hour in full, then by the half hour. Parts are extra. |
| Emergency or out-of-hours call-out | €100–€350 | Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays cost more. Late nights cost the most. |
| Burst pipe repair | €150–€2,000 | A burst you can see under a sink is a short job. A pipe under the floor or inside a wall, with the floor or plaster to make good, is the top end. |
| Immersion element or thermostat | €80–€250 | A thermostat is cheaper than an element. Hard water scales the element, so it fails sooner. |
